As AI agents operate with increasing autonomy in enterprise production, the sheer volume of security telemetry they generate creates an unprecedented scaling challenge. Human oversight remains required in many enterprises, while legacy triage tools simply can't keep up. To help security teams cut through the noise, Zenity’s AI group built the Blue Agent. Designed as a digital security analyst, it continuously triages incoming findings to deliver a highly customized verdict, a confidence level, and a fully transparent reasoning trace. By exposing its exact logic step-by-step, the agent empowers analysts to confidently verify and approve decisions in seconds. This radically reduces Mean Time to Respond (MTTR) and actively neutralizes alert fatigue. Plus, if the baseline logic needs an adjustment, analysts can easily customize the agent's behavior directly through an accessible chat interface.

From day one, we realized the core philosophy behind Blue Agent had to marry user empowerment with uncompromising architecture. Deploying an AI agent that enterprises actually trust requires solving an intertwined product and engineering puzzle:

  • The Context Gap: You cannot drop a generalized model into a Security Operations Center (SOC) and expect it to inherently understand subjective risk appetites. Security requires deep, organization-specific customization. For example, consider financial data transmitted to an LLM. One company might strictly flag this as a True Positive (TP) data leak. Another organization, however, might have dedicated internal agents authorized to process financial data under specific conditions, classifying that exact same event as a Benign True Positive (BTP). To be useful, the agent must understand these nuanced distinctions.
  • The Infrastructure Challenge: You cannot safely deliver personalized context without solving for strict data isolation, token economics, latency, and rigorous evaluation.

To give you a glimpse under the hood, here are a few of the key mechanisms we engineered to tackle these challenges.

1. Strict Data Isolation as a Feature

Enterprise trust requires impenetrable data boundaries. We architected the Blue Agent to operate within an isolated sandbox for every single customer. When the agent processes findings, it does so entirely within this walled environment. There is no cross-contamination of context, no shared memory banks, and no pooling of data between organizations. The agent learns your environment, and only your environment.

2. Natural Language as the Configuration Layer

With Blue Agent, the playbook is a living document. If an analyst sees that a suggested guideline isn't aligned with their expectations, they can easily change it. They can interact with the agent via natural language to dynamically update the guidelines, or simply edit the underlying Markdown (.md) file directly. It’s a system designed to be guided by the people actually doing the work.

3. Solving the "Cold Start" Across the Data Spectrum

How do you make an agent useful on Day 1? We engineered our data pipelines to adapt to whatever data reality a customer brings to the table:

  • Historical Data with Labels: If a team has labeled past findings, our pipelines ingest this into the sandbox. Blue Agent reverse-engineers the organization's unique operational baseline, generating a custom guidelines document before triaging its first live alert.
  • High-Volume Findings, No Labels: Even without explicit labels, historical data is immensely valuable. The agent processes this backlog to understand baseline environmental noise, identify operational norms, and draft initial guidelines based purely on underlying data patterns.
  • "Zero-Data" Environments: For brand new deployments or proofs-of-concept, the agent's internal playbook is entirely transparent. Security teams can simply open the configuration file and manually write their organizational context and risk tolerance in plain text, bootstrapping the agent instantly. Alternatively, they can rely on the system to organically learn their preferences over time as analysts interact with daily alerts.

4. Dual-Model Architecture for Cost and Scale

To make this system, we’re solving for two fundamentally different use cases:

  1. First is the analyst conversation: an infrequent, highly complex interaction where an analyst works with the agent to debate nuances or update guidelines. This requires deep reasoning, so we route it to a large, highly capable model.
  2. Second is the actual triage of security findings: a massive, continuous stream of data that demands speed and cost-efficiency. For this high-volume work, we use a smaller, faster model strictly optimized to execute against the human-readable playbook. By separating these workflows, we deliver high intelligence in conversation and hyper-efficiency in execution, keeping token economics perfectly balanced.

The Future of AgentOps

The true measure of an AI agent's success in the enterprise is trust. In our early enterprise deployments, we are already seeing the Blue Agent deliver exceptionally high triage accuracy in real-world environments. This accuracy, combined with complete transparency, puts them firmly in the pilot’s seat, allowing human experts to dictate exactly how triage is executed at scale. Building this reality took a relentless focus on the intersection of advanced model capabilities, secure data infrastructure, and seamless human-in-the-loop design.

I am immensely proud of our Data Science and Data Platform teams for architecting a system that delivers exactly that. By establishing this highly robust, scalable core today, we have drastically reduced the engineering lifecycle for the next generation of Zenity's Guardian Agents.
