Zenity Raises $125 Million to Secure the Era of 1 Billion AI Agents

Agentic AI

Agentic AI Security & Governance

As Autonomous AI reshapes how enterprises get work done, every AI agent it introduces needs to be securely built, used, and governed.

Not Every AI Is an Agent

Enterprises are adopting Autonomous AI, systems that reason and act with less human involvement at every stage. Agentic AI is the technology category behind that shift, and an AI agent is its actual unit, the specific system doing the reasoning and acting, using tools to carry out a decision instead of just generating a response. Agents vary in how triggered or self-directed they are, and how far ahead they plan:

Declarative agents

respond to a trigger, a prompt, an email, a data change, and act from there.

Autonomous agents

run continuously, acting on their own initiative without a human prompting each step.

Long-horizon agents

plan and execute across many steps, sometimes over hours or days.

The Building Blocks Behind Every Agent's Action

Every AI agent, regardless of platform or purpose, is built with the same anatomy. Understanding them is what makes it possible to secure what an agent actually does, not just what it was configured to do.

Identity

The person, service account, or other agent that the agent is acting for.

Data

The information the agent can see and touch.

Tools

The actions the agent can actually take, through APIs, systems, or other agents.

Plan

The sequence the agent follows to reach a goal, one step or many, over seconds or over days.

Model

The reasoning happening behind the scenes, and how much of it is actually visible.

Intent

The goal actually driving the agent's action.

Environment

The systems, data, and other agents within reach if the agent's decision goes wrong.

The Decision, Not the Prompt

New AI agents get built, configured, and deployed daily, often without a security team ever reviewing them, and that gap is exactly where risk accumulates. But the risk itself doesn't come from one source. It comes from three distinct directions:

External Bad Actors

Hackers and attackers target AI agents through indirect prompt injection, seeking a path to sensitive data and corporate secrets.

Trusted Insiders

Employees or third parties, knowingly or not, can prompt an AI agent into behavior it was never authorized to do.

Agent Autonomy

An AI agent doesn't need to be manipulated to go wrong. It can reason its way outside established guardrails on its own, exactly as described above, without anyone's prompt causing it.

Purpose-built for Securing Autonomous AI

Zenity secures AI agents at that exact convergence point, across configuration and runtime, across every platform an agent runs on. That means discovering every agent, evaluating what it's allowed to do, enforcing policy on what it actually does, and investigating anything that gets through.

Frequently Asked Questions

Agentic AI is the broader shift toward AI systems that don't just generate a response, they reason, plan, and take action using tools, often with minimal human input at each step.

An AI agent is a specific AI system, an assistant, workflow, or piece of software, that perceives a situation, decides what to do about it, and carries that decision out using tools, data, and a degree of autonomy.

An autonomous agent acts with minimal human intervention at each step. A long-horizon agent plans and executes across many steps, sometimes over hours or days. An agent can be both at once, and that combination is where a lot of current risk concentrates.

From the decision an agent makes, the moment its identity, data, tools, and intent all come together to determine an action. That risk can come from an external attacker, a well-meaning insider, or the agent's own autonomous reasoning, with no attacker involved at all.

Zenity secures agents at that decision point: discovering every agent, evaluating what it's configured to do, enforcing policy on what it actually does in real time, and investigating anything that gets through.
