The next government security challenge isn’t AI models, it’s AI agents. Zenity and Carahsoft are helping agencies prepare.

Across government agencies, AI agents are already interacting with sensitive data, mission-critical workflows, and public services. Yet most organizations still lack visibility into where these agents are deployed, what they can access, and how they behave once operational.

The result is a growing governance gap between AI adoption and AI security.

Today, we are excited to announce a strategic partnership between Zenity and Carahsoft Technology Corp. Through this partnership, Carahsoft will serve as Zenity's Public Sector distributor, making Zenity's AI Agent Security and Governance platform available to Federal, State, and Local agencies through Carahsoft's reseller ecosystem and established government contract vehicles.

This partnership arrives at an important moment. For the past several years, the public sector has been focused on understanding and governing AI models. Agencies have developed policies, frameworks, and guidance to address how AI systems are built and used responsibly.

AI agents introduce a different challenge. Models generate outputs. Agents take actions.

Agents connect to systems, access data, invoke tools, and execute tasks on behalf of users. They operate across SaaS applications, cloud environments, and endpoints, often interacting with information and workflows that are essential to government operations.

This shift fundamentally changes the security equation.

Because of this shift, agents now behave and connect in different ways. Which means security teams need to answer a new set of questions.

  • Where are AI agents deployed?
  • What data can they access?
  • Which systems are they connected to?
  • What actions are they taking?
  • Are those actions aligned with policy?
  • If an agent behaves unexpectedly, can that behavior be stopped before it creates operational or security risk?

Most organizations today cannot answer those questions with confidence.

That’s not a technology failure. It’s a consequence of how quickly AI agents have emerged and how different they are from previous generations of software.

Government agencies don’t need another point solution for AI models. They need visibility, governance, and control for autonomous systems that can take action inside their environments.

That is exactly why Zenity exists.

Zenity is the first security and governance platform purpose-built for AI agents across SaaS applications, cloud environments, and endpoints. Our platform helps organizations continuously discover AI agents, understand what they can access, and enforce controls when agent behavior creates risk or violates policy.

As agencies work to operationalize guidance from frameworks such as the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, the OWASP Agentic Security Initiative and emerging Federal AI directives, they need capabilities that move beyond governance documents and into day-to-day operations.

Governance answers important questions about policy, accountability, and approved use cases. Security addresses something equally important: what agents are doing inside the environment and whether those actions are safe.

Both are essential. This is where our partnership with Carahsoft becomes so important.

Government agencies shouldn’t have to choose between moving quickly on AI innovation and governing that innovation responsibly. Through Carahsoft's extensive Public Sector ecosystem and established procurement pathways, agencies now have streamlined access to security capabilities designed specifically for AI agents.

Together, Zenity, Carahsoft, and our reseller partners are helping agencies adopt AI agents with the visibility, governance, and control required to realize the benefits of autonomous systems without introducing unacceptable risk.

AI agents are no longer a future consideration for government organizations. They’re becoming part of how work gets done.

The next government security challenge isn’t preparing for AI agents. It’s securing the ones that are already here.
